One of the requirements under the REACH Regulation (EC) 2006/1907 for anyone producing, importing or placing on the European market any substances, mixtures or articles is to compile two documents: the safety data sheet is required for all substances and/or mixtures classified as hazardous according to the CLP Regulation 2008/1272; the information sheet is required for all substances or mixtures that do not require safety data sheets, but that contain substances subject to authorization and/or restriction, in order to enable the identification and application of appropriate risk management measures.

According to the REACH Regulation (EC) 2006/1907 Art. 3, polymer bitumen membranes and synthetic membranes do not fall into the category of hazardous substances and/or mixtures, instead qualifying as "articles", and consequently there is no requirement to compile a safety data sheet or information sheet.

To provide as complete information as possible, Polyglass has nonetheless prepared a number of documents that set out the procedures for managing, handling, installing and disposing of polymer bitumen membranes and synthetic membranes properly.
