We are pleased to announce that Wecal Isolatie Techniek, a leading company in the field of waterproofing and insulation of flat roofs, is now officially part of the Polyglass family, helping to strengthen our presence in the European waterproofing and insulation industry.
With its headquarters in Wijk bij Duurstede, Wecal has long-standing experience in the building industry, and had a turnover of 25 million euros in 2023. Given the company’s positioning and well-established organisation in the area, we will have the opportunity to further expand our range of products and services to meet the needs of the local and the European market.
This move marks a significant development in the international growth strategy of the Mapei Group, which considers Europe, especially the Netherlands, as a priority development area. As pointed out by the CEOs of Mapei, Veronica and Marco Squinzi, the intention is to strengthen our role in the waterproofing and insulation sectors, significantly supporting the growth of the Dutch construction market, one that is expected to experience substantial growth in the years to come.
Pierluigi Ciferni, the CEO of Polyglass, added that this takeover will enable us to provide our customers with an even more efficient and high-quality service, focusing on the logistics, large-scale retail and residential construction sectors.
